Imagine how proud you will feel to have an art wall in your house, adorned with stunning black-and-white graphite pencil drawings of your beloved pets? Imagine the joy, delight and comfort of being surrounded by beautiful and realistic portraits of your beloved pet.

From Photo to Drawing

All you need are clear and sharp photographs of your pet. Pet portrait artist Keat will turn your ordinary
pet photos into unique
pet portraits
and pencil drawings. Each pet portrait, lovingly hand-drawn.

The graphite pencil is the perfect medium for sharp, realistic pet portraits. With graphite pencil, you can capture your pet's striking features in great detail, without the distraction of colour.

Graphite pencil pet portraits should not be confused with pencil sketches. Each graphite pencil portrait can take 8 hours or more to complete. A pencil sketch is just the beginning of a portrait, to be followed by layers of stroke and blending - to create the fine artwork that you see.

Give Pet Portraits As Unique Gifts

Pet pencil drawings are unique gifts and timeless treasures which you can commission for yourself, an animal-loving friend or a loved one.

Capture your pet's personality in graphite pencil drawings

It is the pet portrait artist's goal to capture your pet's unique personality in the portrait.

This is a graphite pencil pet portrait of Blackie, a local breed from Sarawak, East Malaysia (Borneo) - see the transformation from photo to drawing.

Blackie was a joy to draw for any pet portrait artist because of his dynamic energy and infectious personality.

This graphite pencil pet portrait was drawn from a lovely photo taken of Blackie during one of his most excited moments - welcoming his master home!

It takes many, many hours to finish a graphite pencil pet portrait. The deep layering needed to create the darkest tone, the different tonal values, and fine details - it can be time-consuming.

Only a patient pet portrait artist with a love for the graphite pencil will be able to create beautiful, lifelike pet portraits.

Hand-drawn pet portraits and pet pencil drawings on acid-free quality paper

Stonehenge and Daley-Rowney Cartridge paper are my favourite drawing paper for pet pencil drawings though I also use other brands of artist-quality drawing paper.

Stonehenge Paper (100% cotton) is of archival quality and supports deep layering and texturing. For pet pencil drawings with a soft, smooth look, Stonehenge paper is the best. Daley-Rowney Cartridge paper has a smooth surface and is ideal for sharp outlines and delicate drawings.
